2 years ago I built a kiln for a friend who makes hardwood toys. It is about 8 feet wide and 10 feet long.It will dry about 1000 bf of 4/4 material. It uses an air conditioner for both moisture removal and for heat. There are two locations for circulating fans although only one has been used. His business has grown to the point that he uses to much material to keep up by drying it himself. The kiln is three sides and a top on rollers. to operate you build a stickered pile endwise to the wall and roll the kiln over the top. use door stops to keep it pushed up against the wall and turn it on. water is delivered through a hose to the outside of the structure. If anyone wants it let me know he needs the space. |
