Topic tags/keywords: mesquite lumber buying sell buy molding plane

Good morning all,

I am looking for some 4/4, 5/4, 8/4, 10/4, and/or 12/4 mesquite lumber that would be suitable for making molding planes. Quartersawn would be great, thought I know that’s not usually feasible with mesquite due to the way it grows.

I am looking for boards around 6” wide. Long boards are not necessary, and I would accept pieces 10-12” long. In all, I am looking for maybe 10-15 boardfeet for the time being.

Please reply here or PM if you have any stock and are interested in selling.

Thanks!

BSB – I always need/want mesquite but I just can’t afford it! Got a buddy who has promised some short firewood pieces that I can resaw. Always glad to help you.

Hey Bluestingrayboots, do you have a price list on any Mesquite you have for sale? I love Mesquite but we just don’t have any in Central Arkansas.

Mesquite is readily available in Phoenix and Tucson. Not sure who ships it. Look at Craigslist or Timber Woodworking.

I dont have a price list. It kinda depends on how I feel when I wake up. bwahahahaha.

I go by the $10 a bf rule( up to 10-11” width) but I consider the crafters budget too. I can arrange freight shipping for whole trunks custom milled or single slabs or packages under 150 Lbs with FedEx.

Send me a PM with more or less what you need and I’ll get you a price(that varies a little). Theres picture on feebay, if theres something there that will work just let me know to avoid fees. Thanks. I hope I can supply what you require. :)

Have your say...
