Topic tags/keywords: craigslist gloat

We have all the dream forums, I’d like to start one for the the finds that make us all wish we were there. That 40’s unisaw in running condition for cheap, 500 bd ft of curley maple for $50. These are the kind of finds we all dream of and for some of us it keeps us looking for the next great deal.

So far the find I am most proud of is my Model 70 12” Powermatic table saw for $100.00. Came with 52” Biesenmyer fence. I did have to rent a trailer and install a VFD but all in Im probably less than $300.00 for a great saw.

Last week I picked up a new table saw. It is made by Orion (Steel City). Pretty much a Ridgid R4511 with cast iron top. $100. 3 weeks ago I got a 6” Jet jointer for $100.

I got a DeWalt 735 for $100.00 off of CraigsList.
Threw in another $200.00 for parts and ended up with this:

Yesterday I added this to it:

I scour CL constantly. I mean like once an hour, either on my laptop or phone. If you can be the first person to respond, you can usually close the deal.

Another great CL find, last year, was a C’man 113.298030 TS, for $125.00.
It came with a Vega Utility fence and Herc-U-Lift mobile base:

Unfortunately the motor gave up the “Magic Smoke” last week and needs a new motor.
I’ve been scouring CL for a “future gloat” deal on a motor…..

Base cabinet with one monster of a 1.5 hp 220v motor. totl weight in near 750 lb. I’ve only bogged it down once 5” wide maple, misjudged the cut and ended up trying to cut just shy of 3/8”. 36” long board made it almost 12” before the belts started slipping. Still a very fun machine to run but ear protection is mandatory

I worked at a cabinet shop and theirs had the metal infeed roller which you had to make sure you were cutting deep enough to remove the marks put into the wood by the roller. It never slipped while I was there ! LOL
