It’s funny you mention this. I just got a brand new 8” helical head Jet jointer for around $800. The retail is about $2,000. Not sure where you live, but if you are anywhere near Lebanon, TN, this is a place to check out. They do offer shipping, but of course, that’s gonna cost you. I also agree with the Craigslist thing. You also may want to call your local woodworking store and ask if they have any friends, know of anybody or business looking to sell their used equipment.
Get the best you can afford, this is a very valuable tool in the shop that can set a woodworker apart.
