Topic tags/keywords: measuring tape markings

Harbor Freight has a coupon this month for a free measuring tape. When I got one yesterday I noticed little diamonds at 19 7/32, 38 13/3257 19/32, etc. I was wondering what these diamonds were marking? They don’t seem to match the various spacing of studs (16, 24, etc.).

Think about the spacing for a sheet of sheathing on a roof…..

Stretch it out on a 48” wide sheet, should mark center of rafters???

The Chinese have different markings than we do. I’m surprised you didn’t know that…
