Hello folks

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I have an old Ward 5” jointer made by Duro Machine Products.
It has three knives three gib’s and 9 bolts to hold the gib’s to the knives in place. But in the cutter head it has two screws that don’t do anything. I can take the two screws out of the cutter head and they don’t do anything. They don’t change anything. What are they for? Hope someone can answer because they must be there for some reason.

Thanks,

-- chocked Tn.

Are you sure the two screws don’t secure the cutterhead to the pulley shaft?

Never gave it a thought.
Just assumed the cutter head was one piece. I will have to look at that again.
Makes perfect since and boy don’t I feel stupid.

Thanks Tedstor
