Topic tags/keywords: fun question cheeseburger OK folks, this one is non-woodworking and just for fun… ;-) I know we are geographically diverse bunch and I also know that regions vary greatly on how they top a hamburger. We all know how Jimmy Buffet likes his, but… what do you put on your hamburger??? Me??? If I’m going all out I’ll take American Cheese, bacon, lettuce, onion, pickle, mustard, ketchup and mayo. Good stuff!!!

Maybe a Portabella mushroom on top, maybe Swiss or provolone or yellow cheese. No tomatoes, no onions, no mayo, no mustard, no ketchup, maybe lettuce. and maybe BBQ sauce. -- Karson Southern Delaware karson_morrison@bigfoot.com |

First, we need to get the proportions correct. These double/triple/quad burgers have way too much meat for the amount of bun. I’m a carb freak- I LOVE THEM!!! So a burger has to have enough bun to carry the goods. |

Some of my favorite sauce toppings- tabasco, or bbq, or salsa…. the old standby is ketchup, pickle, mayo, cheese, and bacon. -- As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. (Proverbs 27:17) |

I like several different varieties. Onion ring, BBQ sauce, Apple smoked bacon and sharp cheddar, also like chicken breast with bacon, cheese and BBQ burger. Also I enjoy your basic bacon cheese burger except here in Idaho we invented “Fry Sauce” to go along with our fries and tots which is basically mayo and ketchup (Secret blend…lol) and that is good for dippin instead of ketchup. -- Tony - Filer, Idaho |

Being new to the south, I love ‘slaw’ on everything! -- Berta in NC |

Those “slawburgers” seem like an NC specialty… I visited some family outside of Raleigh and went to a cookout. They were shocked I’d never heard of slaw on a burger – and I’ve lived all over the South! Slawburgers must be either a recent or very local thing then… never heard of ‘em before and they don’t do ‘em that way anywhere in the South I ever lived. (Born and raised there, and spent a good chunk of my Navy career in the Norfolk and Charleston (SC) areas.) They definitely don’t do ‘em that way in and around the Triad in NC. They do server slaw on BBQ sandwiches in North Carolina though. -- Derek, Bremerton WA -- |
