In my area MDF 3/4”X4’X8’ is roughly $32 a sheet. Seems expensive to me. Is that the norm around the country or am I just being cheap?

That is a fair price. Here in MO it is $35.

I just bought a 1/2” sheet at home depot yesterday, $28. $32 doesnt seem bad for a 3/4”.

i agree with dpwalker, lots of people say mdf is cheap but i’ve always thought it was expensive.

i’ve bought 3/4” birch for $25-$26 a sheet and pine for $19 a sheet.

The real cost of MDF is what it does to your tools and your lungs, ie. it trashes them both !

whitebeast88 that’s why I was asking. For about $10 more I can get a sheet of oak ply. I was expecting MDF to be much cheaper. I’ve never priced it before… live & learn.
