Here are a few other things I have made first don’t despair when this little box I turned popped a portion off the vox then I added the little lady sorry poor photo’s anyway the other things including the miniature workbench about 5 inches long the goblet is made from laburnum and the set of steps I copied from a piece I saw in an antiques book can you tell me whet timber it is I thought teak nbut could be wrong I also made my son a small japanese dining table with the same wood so please let me know thats the steps.I hope you like my stuff Alistair

Great stuff. Can’t really tell if the steps are teak. Teak is generally oily, gritty and hard. The oil makes it difficult to glue unless precautions are taken to remove the oil. Difficult to machine due to the silica, dulls edges quickly. What is laburnum? I imagine you get some species we are not familiar with in the US. Do you have ready access to oak, cherry or walnut? Do you get material from Europe? Nice projects, good eye for form. Got any more to show us?
