Topic tags/keywords: question

This may not be right for lumberjocks, but I am having a hard time finding information on this project. I need to frame a ceiling fur down capable of holding a suspended load of 400lbs in addition to s/r. I am having trouble finding resources showing connections for suspension in my framing books and resources. The final will be 18’ by approx 4’

I’m of no help, except to ask:
Have you posted your question on LJs sister site HomeRefurbers???

Have not posted on Home refurbers, will look into that

I Is 460 lbs at six connection points, on an island fur down that will be s/rocked. The fur down is existing, but doesn’t look right in my experience(from pre s/r photo’s supplied by the builder), so I was kinda crowd sourcing a bunch of option’s I haven’t thought about yet, so I have more solutions when I get it torn all they way open and see what is really there. I have some idea’s. I understand it is kinda out of the LJ realm, but quite a bit of framing advise has been tossing around lately, so I thought I would try. I will likely run a header type system across on top of the ceiling joists, and sandwich 2x’s in between, hanging down, with the same mirrored below. this is all to hang a piece of sculpture.
