Lamp auger Long drill bits Hard to drill out a long blank on a mini lathe without bed extension. Will need a 4-jaw chuck and remove live center from tailstock to use lamp auger. Using long drill bits requires 4-jaw chuck and drill chuck and flipping blank around. Back out bit, often clearing chips insures a straight hole through blank. A steady rest helps, homemade versions work well. -- Bill |
