Hi Guys
I thought it would be a fun project to put together a manual showing “The Essential of Woodworking” and i want to make sure it’s really good.
So,I’m putting together a survey to make sure I answer any questions that normal people would have about woodworking.
so I’ve got a question, a favor and a gift.
1st- what is your #1 question about woodworking?
2nd- Would you post this question at http://techglad.com/woodworking
3rd- If you post a question,I’ll give you a free copy of the manual
Sound good

Thanks guys !

Donny

Donny, I am not without understanding of an individual wanting to invest in a personal entrepreneureship on this site. There are many prominent folks here that have their own websites, publications, video tutorials, etc. One thing to understand is that all of them participate in these forums with advice, instruction, etc. without charge and without the necessity of visiting their site to get answers. Many of us respect this and support these folks.

I have to say that if I have any woodworking question, be it how to change my bandsaw from 110 to 220 or how to prevent blotching on a piece of cherry, I can post a question here and receive about 20 detailed responses before the day is through. Many of these by woodworkers who started when I was in grade school. The point of this site and these forums are to create a free, social, knowledge base where experienced woodworkers can compare notes and share their experience.

Good luck with your venture but I will not be participating.

David

So, who here is normal? What about the rest of us?

you guys might have been a little harsh….

He’s just asking for some help with his project. I dont see the problem with that….

One topic you might want to cover is what finishes will work with what stains/dyes, etc. I think that is (at least for me) one of the most confusing parts of woodworking

Donny, not to be an ass but, how do we know you are a proficient woodworker? You have some guys on this forum who are very experienced like Charles Neil, Peter Sellers, etc. All of them answer questions freely and have a proven track record. In other words, what is the point in asking you about steam bending if you have never done it?

Your projects page is empty, how about you post a couple of examples of your work?

Jorge, i just ask folks here about their #1 question about woodworking, i’m not saying that i’m an expert i just want to create an ebook about woodworking and ask you some help if you want , so if i’m very experienced like Charles Neil, Peter Sellers i never come here and ask for help ,and i’m not looking to write the ebook myself i’ll give this questions to some expert people in woodworking
Thanks Jorge

If this is a “fun” project, why are you charging us for a look? Sounds to me like a project for profit.

I think you should proof read your writing on your homepage and correct the grammatical error(s).

I think if you do search here you will find a lot of frequently ask questions .

Like I’m new to WW where should I start?

What table saw, router, jointer etc to buy?

Many are how to finish a project .?

How to repair mistakes?

where to buy tools ?

Where can I find information on how to do many operations like: cutting dovetails, make a box, make a table etc.
