For anyone interested, I have another thread going on about my BusyBee bandsaw and a return issue. The thread just had a response from Hanif Balolia, VP of BusyBee Tools.

Incidentally, founder of Grizzly Industrial is Shiraz Balolia.

FYI,
Sandra

Naw, I think it’s my sparkling wit…... As far as disclosing my profession on LJ, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Can I have a do-over?

I find your issue and the connection between the two companies very intriguing. I just had a similar issue with a grizzly jointer (http://lumberjocks.com/topics/44981 ). I did not unpack mine as far as you got with yours, but it was pretty evident in the box that there were issues. Grizzly’s customer service did not put me through the headache you endured luckily.

I would assume if they are basically the same company that they may be manufactures in the same plant. I wonder if Grizzly/Busy Bee have a bad batch of machines coming off the line.

Marcus, there have been a few threads about this, but nothing confirmed. Seems like the brother connection is reasonable though.

Or maybe not. I just looked up your bandsaw and shows Taiwan as the country of origin. It also shows that it is powder coated and not painted. But the looks of your pictures and the “damage”, I would guess that your machine is painted and not powder coated as well.

Have your say...
