Topic tags/keywords: humor what is it

OK, Here is another easy one—-

You can’t fool Steve!

I am in the process of making cheese boards for Christmas presents and wanted to include a cheese knife. In keeping with the Maple/Walnut theme of the cheese boards- and other kitchen whatnots- I decided to borrow- OK, OK- steal an idea from Kerux and his swirl pens. His excellent tutorial illustrated how to make a turning with the swirl but I didn’t have a sanding station. This jig holds the blanks so I can trim them on the table saw.

The blank in the jig

The jig on the saw

The first handle- not finished- just the prototype

Thanks for playing

Lew

A sled for running short stock through the jointer. The wheel is a nut and the top part serves to hold the stock down tight and must be adjustable (via the nut).

i liked woodnuts…idea…then I worried that the ends of the jig could make it unsafe going over the blades…so now I am perplexed…

I think it’s some sort of small parts holder to run through machinery… the nut serves to compress all three, unless there is a routed groove underneath that isn’t visible. You could use it hold small parts to make repetitive cuts on any saw or the jointer. (That’s all I’ve got Lew, you’ve stumped me on this one… ) :-)

OK, I think it’s a router jig you mostly use on 3/4” plywood. The piece of plywood in the center is just spacing it for now. A sheet of plywood (or what you are routing) takes that middle pieces place. Also you are showing us the jig upside down. The wooden nut tightens the jig from the bottom, thus keeping it away from the router base. You could mortise a hinge with it.

Dang!

I knew it was for holding something for cutting. I had it pictured in my head but just got the wrong tool.

Thanks for the game ;)
