Has anyone replaced their Shop Fox Mobile Base casters? The casters on my mobile base toting around a 6” jointer disintegrated after 10 years. I looked up the Shop Fox Casters online, but I’m wondering if anyone has tried another higher quality brand successfully.

YES!!! My wheels disintegrated to where I had to do something. I went to my local hardware store with the measurement of the wheels I needed thinking I could just buy the wheels. Well, I couldn’t, I had to purchase the whole caster. I removed the wheel from the new caster and put them on the old caster and haven’t had a problem since. I think I purchased the hard rubber wheels – there were a few options. It ended up being a very easy fix.

I have all my shop tools on casters. I buy my casters at Harbor Freight, about $4.50 or so for the swivels with brakes. Some have been carrying my table saw and jointer for well over 10 years now, and no problems to date. An option you might consider.
