Long time lurker first time poster.I am very very new to wood working. I bought a used rigid 3660. It had some rust on it. I removed cast iron wings and got most of the rust off. However there is some black splotches left. How can I get these off and if I can’t will it affect performance any. Thanks, looking forward to asking a million questions. Sorry no pics can’t figure out how to load from iPad.

Buckeye- i think youre going to need to sand it down. Id start with 320 and see how it looked. A little bit of mineral spirits will help too. Work up to maybe 600 grit.

It shouldnt effect performance either way. A good coat of paste wax will prevent further rusting.

I dont think you can upload from a 1st gen ipad but click the img tab above the text box and click choose file. It should take you to your camera roll.
