So I was given this jig saw for free because it was only half working. When it is on the highest speed setting, you pull the trigger and it starts out at full speed and then about 5 seconds later it dives down to about power level 1. If I keep it on the first power level the speed stays consistant. It seemed to me like something was loose so I took it all apart and made sure everything was tight and it was. It is still happening and I cant figure it out. I called bosch and they said somthing inside the motor may be cracked but the guy saud if that was the case it would start up and turn fully off and then start back up again. Sometimes it will go for 15 or 20 seconds before the speed drops.

Any possible ideas on what it could be?

Thanks in advance!, Cole

Switch would be my guess.

The thing is that the swich only has one click for on and off. you cant control the speed from the switch

Have your say...
