Anybody that lives along the Gulf Coast and needs to evacuate to higher ground, I am about 8 hours from N.O or any other portion of the coast. I am willing to open my house to any LJ that needs a place to crash. I can house 2 Adults and 1 or 2 children. I also have a large fenced yard. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats.

If you are interested just PM me and I will give you a holler.

Unfortunately, due to Katrina, I am very selective on whom I open my home to. I had a friend that took in some folks and they overstayed thier welcome and then stole him blind.

I have room in N. Texas too. By brother and his family left NOLA and had planned on coming here, but since they were driving two cars, decided to stay with her relatives near New Roads instead, north of Baton Rouge. Well, it turns out that was not far enough out of the path of Gustav. The had winds of over 90mph even there, and a large pecan was blown down onto one of the relatives cars, and a portion of the house too. No one was hurt fortunately. Pat says the diameter or the pecan was over four feet. Just thinking of all that as lumber…............... Seriously, I have room and my heart goes out to everone left homeless or hurt by this storm.
