Topic tags/keywords: turning walnut lathe

Hey Gang,

I wanted to know if there are any experienced turners in the San Diego area that would take a commission to make some dowel and tapered legs out of walnut. I make mid century furniture for my home (not for sale) and I am always looking to shop local.

In the past I have used I was unhappy with them for two reasons. First the legs were laminated pieces that were turned not solid walnut. This wouldn’t have been a huge deal if they were advertised this way or if reason #2 didn’t apply. Second I felt I overpaid a fair bit.

I’m looking for someone can talk through design and hopefully build a longer term working relationship with.

If you look at the website and browse the mid century modern legs section you will see what I’m generally looking for. Let me know if you are interested and we can figure out a price that works.

*hopefully this is in the right section. Apologies if not.
