I salvaged some crispy logs out of the San Diego wildfire last year, cut them 8/4, kilned them and now have lots of nice tight grain slabs and boards. We counted the rings in the bigger logs and they were around 800 years old. Deep red-orange color, 3.70 $ bf , some slabs have very unique natural edge.

I’m interested too. I’m in San Diego (Lakeside to be exact).
What species of wood?

I will post some pics later this week; need a new digital. You can see a lot of stuff on our website, www.tulepeaktimber.com
We mill pretty much anything and everything that is reclaimed, urban lumber and select recovered logs that have been cleaned off ranches, properties etc. killed by fire, blow downs or bugs. We get a chance to carbon fix a lot of material that would have gone to the dump, grinder or up in smoke. And we have a lot of beautiful specimen slabs as well as lumber to show for it.
