Hi All, well one of my two power tools, an Ulmia bench top bandsaw broke a blade two days ago. I have one more left that I am using right now. As I broke two of the original replacements I got a couple years ago (in Germany), I worry that this blade is as fragile as the other two, so I want to get a couple more.

My question is, who makes custom blades? I am interested in hearing from those of you who got a blade, where you got it and is it durable and reasonably priced. Or is this a standard size for bench top bandsaws?

Here are dimensions of the blade I currently use:

Length: 58 7/8” or 1.5m

Width: just under 1/4” or 6mm

PPI – 6
PPcm – 3

I would like about the same dimensions (obviously length is a must). It is only used for small jobs, so I don’t need a resaw blade or the like. Just something to handle small ripping jobs and an occasional curved job.

Thank you in advance.

Although I have a preference for the people that make the Timberwolf Blade—good people to deal with,

I’d start by looking for a local source, a saw shop. Not only will they make a blade to your specs, but also can advise you on the best band for your purposes.

59 1/2” is a common size for 9” bandsaws – you should see if that size would work for you – cheap blades in that size should be readily available from Home Depot and other sources.
