It is getting time to replace (or rebuild) a couple of my 14.4 volt Dewalt batteries. From what I can find, rebuilding costs somewhere in the $40 to $50 range including shipping. However, I can get new batteries for less than $50.00 delivered: Amazon

Is there any valid reason to have them rebuilt? Of course, there’s the additional hassle of having to ship the old batteries.

The rebuilders may use higher capacity cells than the OEM.
The added run time may not be relevant to the type
of work you do.

I replaced the orig. with the XRP batts. Finally broke down and bought a Makita 18v driver drill. Mush lighter and more powerfull. The L-ion batts. seem to hold a charge a very long time.
