Topic tags/keywords: pen turn club atlanta

Hey LJ’s!

I’m considering starting a pen turners’ club in Atlanta.

Very, very rough idea but, conceptually, we could meet maybe once a month and learn a new technique, have a Q&A with other penturners, chat, show off our pens, trade and sell, etc. We could go structured with an actual presentation or casual and just let it flow – or a combination. We could also join together for group buys on supplies and kits.

Would anyone be interested in something like this?

:-) Scott, I believe here in Atlanta your drive would be considered a fairly mild commute!

Looks like popular opinion here may be to have this more as a one-time or periodic gathering rather than a monthly thing. I may start it as a gathering (one of the other forums I go to for penturning calls it a “Bubbasville”, some of you may know that term) and then we’ll go from there.

As a one-shot deal we’re likely to get people from more areas and we can do a lot more with it. We’d have swaps, demos, etc. and probably fire up the grills. Maybe I can do one in the early fall before it cools off too much!
