My parents understand my favorite hobby very well and got me this excellent set of Lie Nielsen A2 Chisels for Christmas:

I’ve been wanting a replacement for my generic Irwins for a long time, so I’m very pleased and lucky to have a generous mom and dad. I can’t wait to hone these up and start chopping dovetails, mortises, and the like :) . Though right now it’s 10 deg F here in Colorado, and only marginally warmer in my unheated garage, so using them will have to wait.

An impresseive set of chisels to be sure—- but equally impressive to me is your gratitude and appreciation for your parents’ generosity.

Is there any chance they’re looking to adopt?

Yes, it got down to 2 degrees here in Colorado Christmas night. It will be in the 20s today so maybe you’ll get a chance to try out those beautiful chisels. How do they feel in your hand?
