Has anyone submitted a product idea to rockler for them to develop? If so did it work out well for you?

I have sent an idea into Rockler, and I don’t ever plan on doing it again. They don’t seem to be the experts that they claim to be.

I have tried submitting tool ideas to a number of companies. I thought they were good ideas, too. Their usual response (if any) is either (a) that they already thought of that idea (and rejected it, usually), or (b) that they do all of their R & D in house, and have no interest in outside ideas.
Whenever I come up with an idea that seems viable, I always make a prototype to see whether it really works. Often it does. But I’ve almost reached the point where I just figure I’ll enjoy the benefit myself, or make it available for free to anyone who wants to use it. I did that with a modification to the screen on my garden chipper-shredder that eliminates clogging, and only a couple of people inquired about it. Don’t know whether they followed through.
