Topic tags/keywords: ceros festool

I purchased a Mirka Ceros ROS and have been using it with my regular old shop vac. This is pretty awkward because the Mirka has a threaded 1-1/4” female connector, and all I have on my shop vac is a 1” slip on connector. I can get it in there, but it doesn’t hold very well, and I’m afraid to force it, lest I mess up the threads on the Mirka.

I am also contemplating purchasing a Festool CT 26 or 36 in the next few weeks. As far as I can tell, the Festool comes with a 1-1/16” hose.

So, how are those of you with the Ceros adapting the port to your dust extractors or shop vacs? Surely there is a simple and cheap adapter out there. I have looked at the Mirka DE and don’t like it as much as the Festool.

Thanks for any input.

Euro hose ends come in different sizes but Festool and
Bosch use 27mm and 36mm sizes. Those are the ID,
and the smaller hoses at least will fit inside ports on
some tools like the Festool track saws.

Bosch makes a hose with a 27mm end that is almost
identical to a Festool hose but not as costly. It fits
a 2.25” port on one end and most Festool tools on
the other.

I don’t know about the Mirka, but the Festool ports
have ribs or ribs, but are not threaded.
