I have 2 12” radial arm saws that have 5/8 arbors ( Dewalt and Rockwell ) both of wich are 30 plus yrs old that currently have 10” blades on them, in my supply catalogs all the 12” blades have 1” arbors can anyone recommend a supplier that sells 12” blades with a 5/8 arbor. Thanks

I believe the arbor on a 12” compound miter saw is 5/8”...you can get blades for those at big box stores.

I have a 12” dewalt compound miter saw. It came with an insert that reduces the 1” hole to 5/8”.
You need to locate one of these inserts. I think any saw blade company would have them. In my area I would go to Butler Saw company in Lawrenceville GA.

I believe the ShopSmith tool (lathe/saw/everything) uses a 5/8” arbor, though I believe you may have to settle for only 10” blades. But they are quality blades! You should be able to get blades from them.

Try www.shopsmith.com

Cheers!

Actually, I was mistake on that. My 12” blades are made for 1” arbors, my CMS having the capability to use either 1” or 5/8” blades because its dual arbored.

However, people can use 12” blades on a 5/8” arbor if they get a blade adapter like this…

Loren posted one as well.

Both of the above work well on my 12” Delta RAS.
