This is not mine ,but since it’s new and at a discounted price I thought I’d pass it on.

Hi Jim. I was just looking for band saws on E bay and Craigslist for my buddy today, this looks like a good price on this one. I was wondering about Rikon vs Grizzly. The list prices is a about double for the Rikon. Do you think it is twice the saw as the Grizzly G0555 Ultimate Band Saw?
The guy says it does not fit his need!! That looks like one heck of a saw. It has a nice fence and a 12” height out of the box! The table looks to be formed steel rather than cast and it does come with a light and 220 motor.

Hi Jim
I’m not much help on this one since I’ve never owned ether one. I know I’ve seen good reviews on both but I’m not sure what models the reviews were on.

Rikons have cast iron tables.

The frame is welded steel and there is no way to add a riser block like with a cast iron frame.
But, there is no need to since it’s already got over 12” cuttiing height.

I don’t have this particular model, but I do have a Rikon, and I really like it.

I have the same saw – 13” capacity not 12”. It cuts everything nicely, even 12” resaw. Has tension release lever, cast iron table. I bought mine for $699 on special from Woodcraft in Ct about two years ago.

Actually that would be my last piece of equipment, although I do have my Dad’s old bandsaw which needs some work. But really nice tool to have around the shop.
