I am looking for a couple used Hegner scroll saws near Indianapolis to purchase. I am helping a number of children learn how to woodwork (4-H) and need a couple more scroll saws. I would prefer the 18vs or larger… but would be interested in the 14. Anybody out there have anything they are willing to part with. I have seen these in the historical posts…wonder if anybody has one in their closet they would sell?
I am currently refurbishing an old 14” Hegner for the kids that I found on CL for $20.
Anyone have other good ideas about tools that are good starter tools / projects for kiddos? I really like the scroll saw to start them out with, as they can get in and get going making real, useful projects nearly immediately. I don’t like the throw away useless projects and don’t like to frustrate them with handtools they are not sized for nor have the strength to wield.
We are focusing on various scroll projects…but have morphed into scroll cutting shelves and other items.
