Topic tags/keywords: finishing wood combinations

I am building a small jewelry box out of tiger maple and cocobolo. I am hearing there my be issues with the cocobolo staining the maple when I try to apply the finish. Any truth to this and if so what would be the best finish to use that would mitigate or avoid the problem.

Lots of box makers and wood experts out there… Giving this a bump!
