Topic tags/keywords: question

My in-laws couch has a broken leg that needs replacing. I thought I’d try making one but I’m not sure where to get the 2 ended screw that would go into the leg and into the couch.. or what it’s even called.. :) Once I get that I figured I’d make a wooden leg and then put a leveler on the bottom.

Any advice would be appreciated, but mostly I just need a location to get those screws.

Thanks,
BlackNoir

Shay,

I’m not sure what those screws are called but if you have a Lowes nearby I’ve seen those in their specialty hardware drawers.

You’re thinking of either a Hanger bolt – wood threads on one end, machine threads on the other
or a Dowel bolt – wood threads on both ends

They’re called hanger bolts. Your local hardware should have them. Here’s Rockler.
