Just for the record even though I have a large number of post I’m not involved with LJs management ,I’m just another member.

I really like Jim and I really respect Jim….. but damn….. what’s this all about. You welcoming members and telling what they can and can’t do…... Jim, are you running the site or not. If you are, I respect you 100% for it…. If not….. well, pal…. I’m not sure. Actually I’m not sure about anything on this site anymore.

You might do the same thing if a good number of folks you welcome assume your part of management and ask you all the questions that are listed. I guess when you welcome people they don’t ask you questions???
I guess it turns out to be a problem when you set out to help new members?

Hah, that’s a great table! I wonder how many younger woodworkers have no idea what it’s modelled after :D

I see no problem with what Jim is doing. Being nice and informative shouldn’t be penalized.

What a juniorjerk. Why would you start a thread like this? I don’t see anything wrong with what Jim is doing.

Howdy,

It might be helpful to unwind the springs a little. Seems like they are coiled a little tight. I have never seen anything come out of Jim that was derogatory. I see him helping folk all the time in the kindest possible way. If anyone is taking offense to this humble man and the gentle way that he guides people, a little self evaluation is in order. Please think about it.

Say what????
Post as many projects, blogs, reviews, forum topics etc, etc, have as many followers, (buddies) as Jim has and maybe then you (might) have something I care to hear about when chastising another. Don’t read his posts, etc if you don’t like what he has to say. Let it go dude!
It almost sounds like you might have an inferiority complex! All I have seen Jim do is (yes) welcome others and (yes) possibly remind them of what is acceptable here or not. I’ve never felt he claims to “run” this site – ever!
I have always felt that he is an experienced woodworker and a longtime contributing member here!
I have never seen him do anything remotely like what you have done today!
If you respected him as much as you claim you should have contacted him directly rather than trying to shame him publicly! Man up or shut up!
P.S.
Thank you Jim for ALL your contributions!!!

This is a bit bizarre.

What is the significance of the floppy disk table?

That is the coolest table I have ever seen! You should make on that looks like an old Atari game cartridge or an 8 track tape!

I have nothing but respect for you, Jim. My post wasn’t meant to be hurtful. And if it sounded like it was, I am truly sorry for that.
