Topic tags/keywords: gifts question christmas

Much as Ralphie strategically placed magazine advertisements for a Red Ryder BBgun for his parents to find.
My hopes are in the hand tool realm of Veritas and Lie Nielsen.

Only anticipating 1 item or maybe a plane + straight-edge.

What is everyone else hopeing for?

Looks like we have the same list! That Veritas shoulder plane is sweet.

A friend has the 48” aluminum straight edge and said it’s just about the most used tool in his shop.

My spouse and I are looking for the same thing.
Me to land a better job so we can keep the house.

It sucks to have 40 years experience as an engineer and to have to work 50 hrs a week to get paid the equivalent of what I used to make in 25 hours.

But, I still have my health, and still have my knowledge and skills, and a family that loves me. Things could be a lot worse,

Just don’t think I can hang on for 4 more years till we get a different idiot-in-chief, maybe one that knows something about business and working for a living. I haven’t started cussing yet so I will shut up now.

Sorry Crank to hear of your struggles Yes things are very tough for some over here too. Back to the question I am getting an incra saw mitre jig what’sitt .It is really too small for all time use for my very large saw but the one that comes with the saw whilst it does great cuts is a bit heavy and does not do the infiteimal large number of degrees offered by the incra .Have fun and peace this year.Alistair

I guess thats the problem when you have a wife and a house with greater needs than your own hobby… you don’t wish for much. About the best I’m hoping for this year is Christopher Schwarz and Garrett Hack’s books. From there its all new interior doors and hardware in the house. And guess who gets to install it? Merry Christmas me!

Agree going through the catalogs… there are lots of wants, as always.

I didn’t see any thing in the new tools that screamed “Buy Me”

The new Festool Large Domino jig looks cool but at 1200 bucks…. I’ll stick with the router, and handmade loose tennons.
