Found this blog two days ago, and then tonight found the Grizzly woodworking tools website. This upcoming year I need to purchase a new table saw, 20” single surface thickness planer, 8’ jointer, shaper, and a 13 spindle line boring machine. I purchased a few new tools this year they were all general international, a 17” bandsaw, osciailating spindle sander, 6”x108” verticle edage belt sander, drill press, dust collector and a Hegner scrollsaw.

My question is how the General International and Grizzly tools compare in quality. Looking at the Grizzly prices in Bellingham they seem to be quite a bit cheaper than the General tools up here in BC. And are the Grizzly tools made overseas?

Grizzly tools are mostly made in Taiwan. Can’t tell you how they compare to General, though. The Grizzly showroom is here in Bellingham, so you could easily check it out.
