Other than the 3 knifes can anyone tell me the difference between the DW 733 planer and the 734? I am interested in trying to find a shelix/helical head for my DW 733 and see they make one for the 734 and am wondering if it would be the same and fit in the 733? Anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks in advance.

Holbren sells them and they have a different part number listed for the helical head between the 734 and the 735. They don’t have the 733 even listed. I’m just speculating here, but I would think if it were the same part they would say so. The Dewalt planers are pretty popular and Holbren wants to sell these things, so I would guess they would not leave that out.

I believe there is two differance. 1st 734 has a extra blade, 2nd is the dust collection, on the 733 it was v shaped which people complained it would clog up. Best thing to call dewalt to see what is differance between the 2 parts.

Didn’t the DW733 also have heavier resharpenable HSS knives vs the disposable reversible type? (It’s been a while, so I don’t quite recall)
