My first 12" bowl

I met up with an old friend on FaceBook. She and her three sisters were foster children taken care of by my next door neighbors. Terri and I were fast friends and we did everything together. We were only about 13 or so at the time. We grew up and didn’t keep in touch, but we found each other now as old folks, lol.

Anyway, she want’s me to make her a large walnut bowl because she has her grandmothers bowl and her sister wants one. So I am the guy. It’s my first attempt at a bowl of this size.

I was surprised at how much walnut I had to use. This is about 7’x11” glued up here. I was going to make it three inches, but decided a padauk stripe on the bottom would be a nice touch so I glued up one more piece.

I’ll round that off on the BS later today and maybe work on it a little. I’m not feeling well, so maybe not.
