I just read a topic about drawer slides where the f-word was used repeatedly and that contained racial insults…..yea it was the political threads that were the problem.

Who’d have thought drawer runners could be such a contentious issue?

Grown men resorting to name calling, racism, swearing, threatening acts of violence to each other.

What a disgraceful carry on.

Not much point starting a topic if you’re that narrow minded you won’t even consider another POV

That’s because the original poster is a troll. Just block him and ignore. Don’t feed the trolls.

I went there to put in my $0.02 worth on metal slides, and got , how to describe it, down-graded? Not being used to such, I simply returned the “favour”. A second Troll then did appear.

( Never laughed so hard at watching two troll “mate”, downright funny. Told them so, too)

I ran into this troll, I had only typed 5 words and HE blocked me. That is the best thing he could have done for me!!!

Yeah it’s nothing about the topic and everything about the creature that started it. I thought he’d left after a blowup last week, but sadly no. :-(

We need to ban threads about drawer slides, they obviously cause controversy.

I am always amazed at the people from our country (USA) where an education is offered to everyone and they can’t carry on a conversation and use words properly. I haven’t read this thread you are talking about but (1.) do they even know the meaning of the word or words they are using and (2.) are they using the words correctly according tot he proper meaning. I don’t like to be around people that that can’t use words that have 5 or more letters.

A strong instinct for anticipatory management, through blocking, will limit the conversationally-challenged to ONE foul post apiece. Then you can start new threads, without worrying as much that someone is going to get tongue-tied, freak out, boil over, get enraged, become irrational, use profanity, or perhaps even attack you personally. Examples to follow… :-^
p.s. see how a well-managed thread about drawer glides travels along, with one respectful poster after another contributing their thoughts and enjoying the fellowship: http://lumberjocks.com/topics/41537

I’ve only been around LJs for a year, but the individual referenced is the most uncivilized I’ve run across on any forum. On an earlier topic that he posted, I suggested that he put himself in the same derogatory category that he assigned to others, and was promptly blocked and treated to a foul PM to which I didn’t reply. I truly believe there’s some dementia involved. Perhaps if he’s universally ignored, he’ll soon go away.

Unfortunately I thought it started out as a legitimate topic. Guess maybe they all do. Don’t know why people live their lives so angry.
