Here’s a photo of some small boxes I made for Winter Solstice gifts. I needed three, all were going to be painted with different colors of milk paint, one had to be green (the girl child has a green jones), needless to say there ain’t a green one in this batch. All were made of scrap wood from the cutoff pile, the last box ended up with cherry sides and pecan base and top, the wood was just too pretty to paint so today I made and glued up another one from some poplar to paint green.

BTW, poplar sure lets you know when it is time to sharpen the chisels.

Boxes look fine. I have not tried milk paint yet, but it seems more people are using it all of the time.
