Hi Folks,

Grabbed these logs since they looked like walnut with only the endgrain exposed.

Got to slice into one tonight, and, at least to me, doesn’t look or smell like Walnut.

Any ideas as to what it is? (or confirmation on Walnut?)

Thanks folks!

The bark and the wood look like Walnut from here … light sapwood and dark heartwood … Hmmmm looks like a duck and walks like a duck … really beautiful grain paterns.

Younger trees and branches of walnut look like that.

Very green walnut.
