Topic tags/keywords: dovetail video klausz

Checkout this link to a Popular Woodworking video of Frank Klausz making a dovetail joint by hand with bow saws in 3 minutes. It is an impressive display of skill to say the least. I wonder if I could make one that quickly with a router and jig :).

I just saw that last night. Wow. Sure, they’re not the prettiest dovetails, but they fit so snugly on the first try, without any chiselwork. Wow.

That’s cool. Even my wife was impressed. Using those bow saws just reminded me of bandsaw cut dovetails. Wonder if there is a bandsaw version of fast dovetails out there in cyberspace.

That is just plain old fun to watch.
Frank is a craftsman, even if he gave you the tools, he can not give you the years of experience he has with the bowsaws.

How to build flea market furniture by Frank Klausz. Don’t try that with hardwood, unless you’re making firewood.

I wish it were as simple as he makes it look. For me it doesn’t matter if it is hard wood or soft wood. It all seems to become fire wood.
