I found a half dead silver leaf maple tree and was wondering if it is worth cutting off the dead fork half. Is it good to cut up into boards or for turning ?

Could be good, depending on how long it’s been dead and how it died. Might have some nice spalt in the wood. I would definitely check it out.

Best way to find out is to take it and cut it up. I don’t pass on many trees.
