The UPS Girl has made a few drop off at Casa Chaos the last couple of weeks. I made some photos for the insurance file and thought I would share the new additions with you’ll as well.

There are a couple of planes from Lie Nielson, a 51 and a 4 1/2, a spoke shave and slew block plane from Lee Valley, a Tite-Mark, and three saws from Bad Ax.

I’m celebrating the Winter Solstice early this year :-).

After you tune those planes I want to see some shavings on that bench. I never received a bad product from LEE VALLEY, LIE-NIELSON OR THE JAPANWOODWORKER! Three of the best!

The tools look great, but I was hoping for a picture of the UPS Girl!!!

Congrats on the early Winter Solstice!

The ups guy left 8 different boxes on my porch Fri… it was almost embarrassing. Only 2 were for me though. A set of carving gouges and a set of mini turning tools. I have that skew plane and spokeshave on my lee valley wish list. Write a review when you’ve had a chance to try em.

The UPS guy and the FedEx guy never bring me such nice things. And I see them both almost daily.

My UPS guy is so forgettable … all I focus on is the condition of the package.

The title made me look at this hoping for more on the UPS girl, but the picture of the tools will have to suffice. That is one nice spread of tools you have there. It’s a good idea to get photos of your tools for insurance purposes, and if they get stolen.

Thanks guys, I had a photo of her someplace on the computer but can’t seem to find it, oh well :-).

For Rich, I’ve had a LV flat spoke shave for awhile, this one has a convex sole. The flat one is as good as a spoke shave gets, I can’t say enough nice about it. The slew block plane has been on site for a couple of weeks and is the best tool I’ve found for cutting rabbets in my tail board when cutting dovetails. I haven’t a clue why I waited so long to get one.

The Bad Ax saws are one of life’s luxuries I allow myself, they cut fast and clean but many other saws will do that as well. I like to kid myself that in a blind test I would pick out the Bad Ax more often than not, I doubt I could but they sure feel good in the hand and on wood plus they satisfy the eye.

I had been trying to find a good Stanley 51 for a while with no joy, the LN is cheaper, the 4 1/2 was just because. I have a nice Stanley type 9 4 1/2 with a Hock iron and chip breaker, the LN is nice but I can’t say it is better. Either is a great smoother.
