Topic tags/keywords: sharpening tool work sharp

I stopped by Rockler on my way home today and saw a Work Sharp person for the first time. They only had the floor model in stock, so I decided to hold of buying one fearing missing parts. I thought I would ask my fellow Jocks if anyone had experience with this sharpener or had any opinions.

Rocker has them on Sale for $199 and you get a $25 rockler gift certificate.

This will give me some time to think things over. Anyone tried one?

Jerry Work was working on finishing up his manual for it when I visited his studio, and perhaps it was spill-over from his enthusiasm, but I was impressed. Seems like all the stuff necessary to accomplish the Scary Sharp system in one convenient easy to use little machine.

Thanks Dan. I’ll probably buy one eventually. This or a Tormak. I have too many hand tools to only rely on water stones.

BTW. I bought one on my way home from the Bay area today. I’ll try it out and post info in my blog.

It looks like a well designed machine.
