So here is what most will find a easy and simplistic question, I am building a box and need hinges usually I just head to the homie depot or some other store close well the one other time I purchased hinges I did. Anyway I am looking online because I want to have strap hinges, I making a bible box where the box looks like a book anyway I can not find what I am looking for. I can’t tell if I am using the wrong search words or going just do not know where to look. I am trying to get the effect of the old books that had the black straps on them. Anyone happen to know where to look or key search words to use. Strap hinge is giving me hinges for gates.

Thanks

I am still looking for a retailer but you might want to try searching for a book clasp and strap. I think that is the concept you are looking for.

Lee Valley has a variety of strap hinges, might get you started.

Jacob, I’ve purchased quite a bit of reproduction hardware from ’Van Dyke Restorers’ here’s their website: http://www.vandykes.com/default.aspx?utm_source=vr121108&utm_medium=email&utm_content=VDR_logo&utm_campaign=ElectYourSavings
Though it sometimes takes patience to find exactly what you want, their search feature leaves a bit to be desired, but they have great hardware!
