Okay jocks are you ready?

I’m proposing a challenge to all you lathers out there even though my lathe is still in transit, (don’t worry I’ll catch up), to make or turn something.

This is something simple so every skill level can participate.

Rules.
The object must be made of wood and the primary tool used must be a lathe.
No extra props for extra things beside the object, however it is encouraged to do so anyway.
Must be the correct size of original object.
Must have a finish.
Deadline Dec 21, 2012

The object to duplicate on your lathe is:

A wooden Wine Bottle.
Just any wine bottle will do.

Jocks, start your lathes!!!

Once we get enough jocks we’ll come up with some judges.
There could even be a prize.

Russ,

This sounds like a fun project and can be turned from about anything Question I would have is for the “original object.” The one in the pic? or a wine bottle we see at a store?

David, it would be a regular wine bottle. I just put that up as an example.

It so happens, I’m building a3000 bottle wine clellar right now. That would be a nice touch to add to the project. I also have a new Powermatic 4224 lathe. Hmmm??? I see the deadline is the Mayan calanders dooms day. LOL
