Got to meet up with Paul (shipwright) We had a fantastic morning sharing our knowledge & stories. Because we come from different aspects of woodworking, we got to enjoy the beginning of what I think will be an on going expansion of our skills, some new techniques and abover all, a wonderful friendship that will. I have to say though, I think I have a lot more to learn from him than he does from me. His Marquetry it truly amazing, I cant wait to give it a try. He has invited me to come out to his shop and get a lesson on his craft. Because I build boxes, this will really take my work to an entirely new level. I know I haven’t been around much, I’ve been working long hours to beat this economy into submission. After meeting Paul though, I’m really inspired to get back in the shop & try my hand at marquetry. Paul, if you read this, Thanks so much for taking the time to come by. I can’t wait to come out to your place & see how you do this. See you soon & thanks again.

At the risk of sounding like a “mutual admiration society” (1956, from the Broadway musical Happy Hunting) I could have written that and substituted Bill’s name for mine. We’re going to be friends.
Thanks to Gene Howe for the intro.

I knew you guys would hit it off.
Bill, when you go down to Paul’s place DON’T USE YOUR GPS!!! Have him meet you at the Circle K!
I can’t wait to see the results of your collaboration. Genius meets inspiration!

It truly is a wonderful thing that Lumberjocks allows us the medium through which otherwise we could never make the connections it affords. I’m sure that this will be a collaborative and productive relationship.

Looking forward to seeing the fruit of your friendship.

This is the greast place. I actually get to talk to people that are interested in the same things I am. I just wish there were a few of you located closer to me.

Well I have to say that I am jealous but great going for you both. I’d love to be just a fly on the wall when Paul cranks up that Chevy and makes sawdust.
