Some of you may know this little trick, and others will thank me later.

I was in the market for a Lathe. You guys talked me into getting a Delta 46-460. So today I’m cruising around trying to find the best price on it and yet still not have to pay shipping. Amazon was the winner in both price and free shipping due to Amazon Prime.

Now this is where you have to pay attention.
Amazon wanted $679 if you just look it up that is. But sometimes time works for you….time and Amazon’s lazy advertising department.
A quick google search turned up that same exact lathe for 20$ cheaper at Amazon!

Why? It’s an old ad. Yet if you link to it and order it from there, even though it says the item does not qualify for Amazon Prime, it still applies when you buy it. So I saved 20$ plus shipping.

Pretty sweet huh?

If you’re buying something on Amazon and have the time to wait, you can use this website:

http://camelcamelcamel.com/

It lets you track the prices of things on Amazon. You can set a target that you’d like to pay and it will notify you when the price gets to your target. They have a plugin for Chrome called The Camelizer that you can use to check the price history while you’re browsing Amazon. There’s a camel icon in your address bar. You click it and it shows a graph of the price history of the item you’re looking at. I use it often.
