Well I am excited to report the addition of our new to us PM SHAPERS. BOTH 3 hp. We have 2 larger upcoming jobs that I am.excited about and will get to utilize our new shapers while building a lot of doors. I gave another shop 1300.00 for the shapers. They are both in very nice condition and work very well. Our current 3hp grizzly shaper will be happy as it currently handles all of the shaping tasks. Now we can run a total of 4 profiles on 4 different machines without having to re set up cutters. We did this to help with building doors.

And I am.excited to use our dynabrade DA, we just got it in the mail today.

Here is a pic of the shapers, the PM are back to back and the grizzly is right next to the PM in the pic below.

Good for you Jerry, looks like your on your way now with door production. I dont see a reversing switch on that one. Some of that vintage had a toggle switeh on the motor itself to reverse it. That is if it is a reverse capabloe motor. I have run across it twice now that others had that machine for quite sometime and never knew about that switch. Either way you did good. Are you gonna powerfeed em ?

Thanks for the comments cabmaker. You are very observant, your right there is no reverse switch. I was mildly concerned about that. The motors are reversible, they have a diagram on the motor that shows how to change the wiring around in order to switch the motor rotation. So I plan to get the cutters set up, determine direction and wire motor accordingly and the goal will be to just leave it set up during the entire job. I might look to add.a.motor direction.switch if I can find one.

And I plan to use the one PM power feeder that is mounted to the grizzly and just swivel it around for all 3 shapers. Adventually I would like to add dedicated power feeders to the PM shapers down the road.

So how is business going for you. I hope you are busy.

Cabmaker, that sounds great. We are also booked through around Feb. So business is good now. We did have a real slow time in august and September.

I did get one more good deal just today. I still have to pick it up though. Just today I bought a small Jet 1 hp shaper in very clean condition. Looks like it was rarely used. It comes with a matched set of cope and stick cutters also in like new condition. I believe the cutters are amana matched set.

My initial plan was to use the 3 shapers for the stick, door lip and panel cutters and I planned to use the router table for the cope cutter. Now we’ll use the small jet for the cope cutter. This will allow us to keep our router table free for random edge profiles we occasionally do.

I believe the smaller 1 hp jet will do great on the cope cutter. So I am anxious to get it all set up and actually run some doors. Totally excited!!!!!!!
