Hey gang
I just thought I’d let you in on getting a super book on finishing. Charles Neil is a woodworking and finishing genius and now he has a new book due out shortly. I just got the news here is the info.

Charles Neil: Finishing Simply Put: Chemistry Degree Not Required, is going to the publisher on Monday, November 5, 2012 and will be available to ship approximately December 15th, just in time for the holidays!

Charles takes his 40+ years of finishing experience and simplifies the whole procedure so EVERYONE can achieve a great finish on their woodworking projects! A full color (8 1/2” x 11” standard) paperback with lots of information and full-color photographs.

“It’s just me and how I finish, a lot of do this, then that, use this,
(it’s product specific) and exactly as the title implies, it cuts to the
chase, it’s mostly water base products, goes into spray finishes,
as well as hand applied, what to do when things go wrong, also
oil /solvent finishes. The goal is for you to be able to take the book
and do a super finish, in very simple layman’s terms,” Charles Neil

We will be accepting Pre-Orders for the book today through midnight Sunday, November 4th . The first 50 copies will be personally autographed to you from Charles. Don’t delay clicking the link below to place your order. We understand from the publisher that they will arrive in 4-6 weeks and we will ship as soon as they arrive. Cost of the book is $36.95 plus shipping.

As always, if you have any questions about this product or this pre-order,

please email me at

Thanks Jim. Like many others I have been waiting for this from the first time I met Charles 5 years ago. I asked him to teach me how to build beautiful furniture like he does he told me he will teach me how to finish before he teaches me how to build. He has done that and a lot more for me. Now I take what he has taught me and teach it to others. It’s really great to pass it on.

Ordered one myself. Charles is a great teacher. This should be just as good and informative as his videos.

I can personally vouch for Charles. I made some custom cherry cabinets this last summer and Charles Neil was gracious enough to take on the finishing job. In between his classes and normal work load. He did an outstanding job on the finish and his many decades of experience sure does shine.
I would recommend any of his books and DVD’s. He is an excellent teacher and fine person.

Charles has done the finish on my sugar chest…it is beyond beautiful…..I just finished his finishing class and I’m excited about trying to finish myself. One thing you can count on with Charles….he’s always there to help you if you get into trouble…..

I would shoot Charles a PM or e-mail Bob because I haven’t heard when he’s getting them back from the publisher.
