Topic tags/keywords: question I need a source for thin bamboo slats. I’ve acquired them from bamboo shades in the past. Something similar in another material might be okay but I know that the bamboo works. Any ideas? -- James, Tulsa OK, |

What are you gonna do with bamboo slats? -- "someone has to be wounded for others to be saved, someone has to sacrifice for others to feel happiness, someone has to die so others could live" |

Boy, that’s a tough one. Since bamboo basically grows as a tube, most bamboo is pressed into shape. Finding long slats other than blinds has me stumped, unless you think you can find actual bamboo. -- Paul, Tennessee, http://www.tsunamiguitars.com |

Just did a quick Google search for bamboo plywood and found these guys http://www.calibamboo.com/bambooplywood.html. Looks like they have both sheet goods and dimensional lumber. |

i use them in window treatments to support fabric. Cut into narrow but long pieces they can provide a lot of support for shades. It tends to be stronger than wood of the same size. Light, strong a just a little flexible. -- James, Tulsa OK, |
